Years ago, I have multiple personal projects that I started myself. I was naive but filled with a goal to achieve financial freedom as soon as possible. I did some amazon kdp, creating a roblox game and affliate marketing.
But let me tell you something, I was not happy during that period and there is no actual result from my works. I keep switching projects and procrastinate. I was rushing and impatient
People like the idea of rushing
People like the idea of rushing because it put us under illusion that we are going to finish our task faster. Working in a state of rush doesn’t feel good. You will always feel anxious. But it seems like rushing have become a natural response when we try to achieve something fast.
However, action coming from this state of being is not sustainable. Soon enough you are going to burn yourself out. This is a fact and it is natural to feel that way.
Exposure to a negative state for a long time will always bring you down. When you are in a state of burn out, it is easy to be influenced by negative thought. As a result, you are likely to procrastinate and give up.
You will get it done anyway
Rushing or not, you will get your task done anyway. As long as you put an effort to it, completing your task is inevitable. It is a matter of choice. You can either choose to work in a state of rush or not.
Both will bear same outcome. The question is, is it worth to exchange your mental wellness for the illusion you are going to finish your task faster?
However, the fact that we need to take action fast is not something that I will refute in this post. Instead, I will suggest a new point of view.
You dont have to be slow
You can still work fast wihout feeling rush. When I was first introduced to the idea of “not rushing”, I thought I need to be slow.
But it doesn’t have to be that way. Rushing is a mental state. It is not equivalent to fast or slow. in fact, you still can be slow when you are rushing. Work fast and efficiently, but come from a state of patience
It is possible to work fast and still not rushing. This is achievable once you acknowledge that both “rushing” and “not rushing” will bear same outcome – that you will get your task done anyway.
